You can explore everything from Britannia to Libya and Aegyptus on this website, and it works just like Google Maps. There's also a search function if you are ever curious about where a place like Ostia or Arretium is.
2. http://i.imgur.com/FyVXx.gif : This is a gif that shows, in a simplified version, the evolution of our English alphabet today from the beginnings of Phoenician, way back in the 10th century B.C. It's a concise and cool way that demonstrates how important studying past languages is.
3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GylVIyK6voU : This is a short video that shows how Rome's boundaries have changed from it's founding to the collapse of the Byzantine Empire in 1453 A.D. It is interesting to see from such small beginnings Rome began, to how vast an area it covered, and then to it's eventual downfall.

1. http://imperium.ahlfeldt.se : This is a Digital Atlas of the Roman world, which shows you all the towns, cities, roads, rivers, lands and mountains from the Roman Empire. You can explore everything from Britannia to Libya and Aegyptus on this website, and it works just like Google Maps. There's also a search function if you are ever curious about where a place like Ostia or Arretium is.
2. http://i.imgur.com/FyVXx.gif : This is a gif that shows, in a simplified version, the evolution of our English alphabet today from the beginnings of Phoenician, way back in the 10th century B.C. It's a concise and cool way that demonstrates how important studying past languages is.
3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GylVIyK6voU : This is a short video that shows how Rome's boundaries have changed from it's founding to the collapse of the Byzantine Empire in 1453 A.D. It is interesting to see from such small beginnings Rome began, to how vast an area it covered, and then to it's eventual downfall.
